The Arab America Ensemble is a cultural initiative of the Arab America Foundation dedicated to preserving, performing, and celebrating the timeless music of the Arab world.
Bringing together accomplished Arab American musicians, guest vocalists, and artists from across the United States, the Ensemble celebrates the songs, instruments, melodies, and musical traditions that have connected generations throughout the Arab world and the diaspora.
Rooted in the classical Arab takht tradition, performances may feature instruments such as the oud, qanun, nay, violin, riqq, and tabla, with the size and configuration of the Ensemble adapted for each performance. Guest vocalists and additional musicians may join for special concerts, cultural programs, and educational presentations.

For generations, Arab music has carried stories of love, longing, homeland, family, celebration, and resilience. The Arab America Ensemble brings this extraordinary musical heritage to new audiences while helping preserve it for future generations.

The Arabic word takht traditionally refers to a classical Arab musical ensemble. While the initiative carries the accessible public name Arab America Ensemble, its performances remain rooted in the authenticity, artistry, and spirit of the Arab takht tradition.
Performances & Programs
The Arab America Ensemble will perform at Arab America Foundation programs, including the CONNECT Empowerment Summit and National Arab American Heritage Month celebrations, as well as at universities, cultural institutions, festivals, embassies, and community events throughout the United States.
Future programming may include themed concerts, intimate takht performances, expanded orchestral productions, educational presentations, and collaborations with vocalists, composers, educators, cultural organizations, and emerging musicians.

The Arab America Ensemble advances the Arab America Foundation’s mission to promote Arab heritage, educate Americans about Arab identity, and connect and empower Arab Americans across the country.
